Over the years, while building my business, I thought I had been creative in finding new ways to help my clients preserve their memories. Be it an album for a new baby, retirement, anniversary, beloved pet or favorite trip, I really thought I had my bases covered as to what I had to offer. I was forgetting one very momentous event.
Recently I was contacted by a potential client, with an inquiry about an album for her Mother's memorial service. I realized in our conversation what a wonderful and moving way this would be to pay tribute to a very important woman. We met to look over the beautiful collection of pictures she had in mind for the book. These photographs spanned a lifetime, and were much too precious to attach to a bulletin board or tape to poster board as a funeral collage.
Within two weeks, I took the challenge and wove these pictures into a touching "biography" of a beautiful life.
Sometimes I guess I need to think outside the box and see that there can be celebration of our precious memorabilia in ways that are not just new, or surviving; but also as a tribute to days gone by and life that has moved on.
I'm so thankful to have had this opportunity, and that my client put her trust in me to tell this story.
